1. Let’s Talk @ Hotard
Let’s Talk is a drop-in, consultation service where students can speak with a counselor without making an appointment.- Location: Hotard Hall
- Day: Tuesdays
- Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- No appointment needed
- Average session length: 15–20 minutes
Let’s Talk is a great option for students who:
- Are unsure about counseling and want to ask questions
- Have a specific concern and want a brief consultation
- Need guidance on resources or next steps
2. Individual Counseling Sessions
Students interested in ongoing support can schedule an individual session.- Location: Hotard Hall
- Available by appointment Monday–Friday
- In-person or virtual sessions available
- Average session length: 45–50 minutes
Individual sessions are a great option for students who:
- Want to meet with a mental health provider which may include traditional “talk therapy,” recommendations to University Health Services, or further mental health assessments, as needed.
- Want to engage in Individual counseling with their provider on a regular, recurring basis or as needed.
- May utilize 3-5 sessions to meet their mental health goals.

3. Immediate Emotional Support and After-Hours Care
- University Health Services provides non-emergency, same day assistance for immediate emotional support needs. Visit the Student Counseling & Mental Health Center Student Services Building, Bldg. 1546 (4th Floor)
- For support and resources outside of business hours, students can access the TELUS Health Student Support app 24/7 for immediate mental health assistance and resources.

Linda Leon
Linda Leon, LCSW-S, is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor with over 10 years of experience supporting diverse communities through counseling and student-centered mental health services. She currently serves as a Professional Counselor III here at Texas A&M University, where she provides individual therapy, case management, and campus outreach to promote student mental health and well-being.Her clinical work is grounded in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused approaches, trauma-informed care, among other evidence-based tools and techniques. As a proud Latina and first-generation college graduate, Linda brings a culturally informed lens to her work and advocacy.
Linda is a doctoral candidate in Strategic Leadership at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, with a focus on Higher Education. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology from the University of Houston–Downtown.
Her dissertation research explores mental health help-seeking behaviors among first-generation community college students, with attention to race, ethnicity, parenting status, and institutional barriers.
