Transferring to a new school requires a lot of planning and decision making. Some commonly asked questions: how to get started, when to transfer, how long will it take to graduate, how many credits will transfer, how much will it cost, and is there anyone I can talk to? We encourage you to thoroughly spend time on the TAMU Transfer Admissions site.
To help you get started, here are some concrete steps to follow:
- Research your degree options. (What do you want to study?) Study Colleges, Majors and Transfer Course Sheets.
- Gather the information you need to apply. (Prepare to transfer.)
- Attend a Transfer Information Session. (You can register online.)
- Learn about the Transfer Program for Admission (PTA) and other grants, work-study, loans, and transfer scholarship opportunities.
- Submit your application through ApplyTexas or The Coalition. Only one application per student. The choice of application has no bearing on the admission decision.
- View the college website to explore major options.
- Prospective and current transfer students can meet one-on-one with a Transfer Peer Mentor in our Zoom Room Monday - Friday. To chat, please email (tsp@tamu.edu) to schedule a time for both parties to log in.
