Welcome to Aggieland! All students are invited to Howdy from Hotard, a welcome event from the Office for Student Success and Transition Academic Programs on August 24, 1:30pm – 3:30pm. Located in Hotard Hall, this event will feature free Kona Ice for the first 250 students, free swag, yard games, and a chance to learn about the programs and resources from the Office for Student Success and Transition Academic Programs. For a limited time, students will also be able to take a picture with the Queen of Aggieland herself, Reveille!
ABOUT THE OFFICE FOR STUDENT SUCCESS
The mission of the Office for Student Success is to amplify student success needs at Texas A&M University by assessing and addressing policies and procedures on student persistence, achievement, and timely graduation. As an extension of the Office of the Provost and the Student Success Initiative, the OSS was created in 2019 to increase first-year retention and timely graduation rates and decrease achievement disparities. To all undergraduate, first-generation, and transfer students: we are your advocates. OSS programs include the first-year experience course Hullabaloo U, Routh First-Generation Center, Transfer Student Program, Student Success Help Desk, and EAB Navigate.
ABOUT TRANSITION ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
The mission of Transition Academic Programs is to communicate relevant, timely, and accurate academic information to students in a supportive and professional environment that is focused on each student’s goal to complete a degree. TAP knowledge base, services, and programs reflect the broad scope of Undergraduate Studies. TAP programs include General Studies, Gateway, TEAM, and Explore Program.
