Academic Advising at Texas A&M University

Whether you're a new student, a senior applying for graduation, or somewhere in between, your academic advisor helps you define and achieve your academic goals at Texas A&M University. Your academic advisor can help you navigate your academic degree plan and aid in guiding you towards graduation. It's important to schedule time with your academic advisor at least once a semester, but more frequently if needed. An academic advisor is a reliable source of information about majors, one who can help students explore their interests, consider alternative majors, select courses, develop a degree plan, and meet degree requirements. Academic advisors can connect students with academic and personal support programs, co-curricular opportunities, and career options.
