Compensation
Salary: $11 per hourTime commitment: 12 hours per week in the fall; 4-6 hours in the summer
Eligibility to apply: undergraduate transfer students; all majors welcome. Blinn Team and Engineering Academy students may also apply.
Training: all trainings are paid
Perk: student employees are eligible for early registration in most cases.
Position Description
Becoming a Transfer Peer Mentor is a leadership position. The goal of the Transfer Student Program is to assist incoming transfer students transferring from community colleges or other four-year institutions (or inter-college transfers) with acclimating to Texas A&M University so students don’t miss out on opportunities. Consider yourself the welcoming committee.Expectations
- Complete mandatory training.
- Must be comfortable working independently and on a team.
- Appropriately represent the university and the Office for Student Success at all events and programs.
- Comfortable facilitating group activities and one-on-one meetings with new transfer students.
- Be the mentor you wish you had!
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be in good academic standing with the University.
- Minimum GPA of 2.50
- Available to work fall and spring semesters; summer is optional.
- Must be eligible for student employment.
- Must be detail-oriented and show a willingness to learn new skills or improve existing ones.
- Must want to make a difference in the lives of Aggie Transfers at Texas A&M University.

- Comfortable with public speaking.
