First-Gen Coordination Committee
The First-Generation Coordination Committee is a university-wide committee led by the Routh First-Gen Center at Texas A&M University. The committee brings together campus partners to strengthen collaboration, share resources, and coordinate programs and initiatives that support first-generation Aggies. Through ongoing collaboration and consensus building, the committee works to identify student needs, strengthen existing resources, and advocate for improvements that enhance the first-generation student experience. Members discuss issues affecting first-generation students, review campus data, share effective practices, and identify opportunities to enhance student support. A key focus of the committee’s work has been aligning best practices across campus and establishing a baseline of care to help ensure first-generation students have access to consistent, meaningful support and supportive environment where first-generation Aggies can thrive academically and beyond.
