Gen1 Learning Community

The Gen1 Learning Community is the Routh First-Gen Center's academic success program for students receiving first-generation scholarships.

Criteria for involvement

Students are eligible to participate in the Gen1 Learning Community if they meet one of the folowing criteria:
  • All Regents' Scholars in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biological Sciences, School of Public Health, or the Transition Academic Program.
  • All Regents' Scholars who are awarded the President's Achievement scholarship.
  • All first-generation students awarded the Ignite scholarship.

  • Dedicated community first-year seminars
  • Social and academic events throughout the year
  • Leadership opportunities. Students in their second year and beyond may apply to serve as peer mentors for the community.
  • Participation in high-impact experiences during your college career.
