Bonnie Bustos-Rios is a Laredo, TX native and currently serves as Interim Director for Academic Advising in the Office for Student Success. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Texas-Pan American (now UT-Rio Grande Valley) and a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University. Bonnie brings over 15 years of advising experience from various institutions and academic programs. As the Interim Director for Academic Advising, Bonnie oversees academic advising, student success, and retention initiatives through the Student Success Help Desk and supports academic advisor career development, training, and professional development in collaboration with various academic units and professional organizations. Bonnie is a proud first-generation college graduate and is thrilled to be part of the Office for Student Success to continue providing exceptional care for all Aggies!
 
Advice for students: You can do it! These next few years will bring some of your best memories, and some of the biggest challenges, and you will learn to work your way through it all. Never, ever be afraid to ask for help or receive help.
