Is this class mandatory?
  • It is an expectation that all first year students participate in a Hullabaloo U course during their first semester. 

Can transfers or nontraditional first year students participate?
  • At this point only first time in college students (freshmen) are able to participate in Hullabaloo U. Transfer students are encouraged to check out the Transfer Student Programs offered by the Academic Success Center.  


Can Blinn Team, Engineering Academy or Gateway participate?
  • Yes! 

What is the content of Hullabaloo U?
  • Hullabaloo U will cover a variety of topics that will ease the transition into college. You can expect to hear about academic success strategies and resources, wellness, and many other topic areas such as time management, resilience, and transition skills. The overall purpose of the class is to build community among your classmates and help you make Aggieland your home. 

Who will be in the class? Who will be teaching the class?
  • Hullabaloo U sections are made up of no more than 25 students, likely making it one of your smallest classes your first semester. Your class will be taught by a faculty or staff member from across campus that is invested in your success as a first year student. Paired with each instructor is at least one upperclassmen peer mentor who will act as a guide and resource during your first semester.
